Murter is not only a jumping-off point for exploring the famous Kornati National Park, but also a great destination in its own right. Beautiful bays with a sandy bottom and turquoise water and an escape from the bustle of main tourist centers make it a great destination.

Located in the northwest part of Šibenik archipelago, the island of Murter is separated from the mainland by narrow sea canal at Tisno. It is connected with the mainland by a 12-meter long draw-bridge.

It is the biggest island in Šibenik archipelago with 19 sq km. This dreamy island is located at the entrance of the Kornati islands National park. There are 4 settlements on the island: Tisno, Murter, Jezera and Betina and any of them is a perfect pick for enjoying the island or a base for excursions to National park Krka, National park Kornati islands, Šibenik, Zadar, Nin…

How to get there?

Murter is located between Zadar and Šibenik, almost on the main Adriatic magistral road. The roads are good. The island has several shopping malls and a variety of restaurants.
